The Clerk to The Board

The Clerk is the officer of the governing board, is appointed by the governing board and is independent of the management of the college. The Instrument and Articles of Governance give the Clerk the status of a senior postholder of the Corporation, which gives them greater protection against dismissal.

The Clerk is responsible for advising the governing board on

  • operating within its powers
  • following agreed and proper procedures]
  • conducting its business efficiently and effectively
  • good governance practice
